Diagnosis
A brachyopid temnospondyl. Distinguished by cranial roof ornamentation patterns and temporal lineae configuration. Skull relatively large with broad tabular horns.
Remarks
The genus Gobiops was established by Shishkin (1991) based on material from the Middle-Late Jurassic of Mongolia and Xinjiang, China. It represents one of the known brachyopids from East Asia.
