Diagnosis
Isopygous trilobite, body small, oval. Cephalon semicircular; Cranidium raised upward, subsquare; Dorsal furrow shallow; Glabella broad cylindrical, sides nearly parallel; Three pairs of glabellar Furrows, all indistinct; Occipital furrow weak, horizontal; Occipital ring narrow; Palpebral lobe relatively large, curved and raised, about half the glabellar length; Gonatoparian facial suture, anterior branch long, posterior branch relatively short; Free cheek small, without genal spine. Thorax of 4 segments; Axis raised, distal end of pleural segment rounded, pleural furrow deep, contracting outward. Pygidium as large as cephalon, semicircular, pygidial axis with about eight to nine rings, pygidial axis slightly broader, sharply tapering backward into a triangle; with a flat narrow pygidial border.

This species is the type species of Balangia.
