Diagnosis
Cephalon and pygidium with distinct concentric terrace lines. Glabella short, constricted medially, a pair of glabellar furrows dividing it into a large pear-shaped median lobe and subtriangular basal lobes on either side, with a median node at the base; preglabellar field longitudinally very long; eyes large, close to the posterior part of the glabella; posterior wings narrow and wide; librigenae wide with short stout genal spines; anterior branches of facial sutures diverging forward, then bending sharply inward, meeting at a point on the median point of the anterior margin of the dorsal shield. Thorax of eight segments; axis extremely narrow; pleurae wide with distinct pleural furrows and short pointed ends. Pygidium large; axis narrow, with 12 rings plus a terminal piece; pleural region with 6-7 distinct pleural furrows; border wide, demarcation indistinct.

This species is the type species of the genus Birmanites.
