Diagnosis

Dorsal shield ovate, specimens rather small. Three pairs of glabellar furrows; posterior border slightly convex, barely widening laterally, border furrow greatly exaggerated on internal moulds, making the border appear narrower and more convex; palpebral lobes semicircular, opposite L3, distinctly convex; librigenae narrow. Thorax of 9 segments; axial rings subequal in width to the occipital ring. Pygidium subsemicircular; axis conical, of 4 axial rings plus an indistinct terminal piece; pleural segments similar in form to the thoracic segments, extended beyond the margin into 5 pairs of pygidial spines.

Remarks

This species is the type species of the genus Encrinurella. On internal moulds the furrows (dorsal, axial, border) are commonly wider and deeper than on exoskeletal specimens.
