Daulis, a nymph in Greek mythology, daughter of the river god Cephisus. The Chinese name "wide" is unrelated to the Latin, referring to the wide preglabellar field of the cephalon

Diagnosis

Glabella convex, tapering forward with rounded apex, 3 pairs of faint glabellar furrows; occipital furrow narrow; occipital ring of uniform width; dorsal furrows shallow; elongate small lobes at the glabellar base; palpebral lobes rather large, eye ridges distinct; preglabellar field long. Pygidial axis convex, short and stout, with 5 rings plus a terminal piece; pleural region wide with 5 pleural furrows; border with serrate small spines.

Remarks

This species is the type species of the genus Monkaspis.
