Diagnosis

Dorsal shield sub-long-ovate, a micropygous trilobite. Cephalon semi-elliptical; cranidium subtrapezoidal; glabella convex, conical, with a median ridge; dorsal furrows rather deep; 4 pairs of glabellar furrows, S1 longest and deepest, strongly inclined backward; occipital ring convex, arched backward, wider medially; occipital furrow rather deep; fixigenae wide; palpebral lobes rather small; eye ridges distinct, horizontal or slightly inclined backward; posterior wings rather wide and long; preglabellar field wide; anterior branches of facial sutures extending outward-forward, then curving inward-forward to meet the anterior border across the border furrow; posterior branches oblique backward-laterally; librigenae medium-wide with short genal spines. Thorax of 16 segments; axis convex, narrowing gradually backward; pleurae wide, pleural segments extending straight, pleural furrows wide and deep, pleural spines short and small. Pygidium rather small, semi-elliptical; axis narrowing gradually; axial and pleural segmentation indistinct.

Remarks

This species is the type species of the genus Nangaops.
