Diagnosis
This species is very similar to the type species Olenellus thompsoni; it differs in the longer, more distinct transition from L3 to L2 of the glabella, and in the posterior margin of the palpebral lobe extending to the occipital furrow S0, whereas in O. thompsoni it extends to the middle of the occipital ring L0; the border furrows, especially the posterior border furrow, are more distinct and broader in O. thompsoni; in this species the third pleural segment is slightly arched upward, whereas O. thompsoni
Remarks
Olenellus getzi is the fifth trilobite species found with preserved antennae; its body can reach 25 cm in length.
