Diagnosis

Dorsal shield long-ovate. Cephalon wide, semi-elliptical; cranidium subtrapezoidal; glabella cylindrical, slightly constricted anteriorly, with 3 pairs of glabellar furrows; preglabellar field long; border narrow; palpebral lobes medium; eye ridges distinct; fixigenae wide; librigenae wide with long genal spines. Thorax of 15 segments; axis narrower than pleurae; pleural furrows wide and deep, pleural spines short and pointed. Pygidium small, subtriangular; axis with 4 rings plus a terminal piece; border narrow, with an extremely small lateral spine on the border opposite the first pleural ring.

This species is the type species of the genus Olenus.
