Diagnosis
Dorsal shield oval. Cephalon semicircular; anterior border broad, with several striae; anterior border furrow shallow and broad; glabella conical, with two pairs of weak crossing glabellar furrows; dorsal furrow deep; occipital spine large and prominent; Eyes small; eye ridges slender and long; free cheek narrow and small. Thorax with two segments; axis narrower than pleural region; pleural furrow shallow and broad; pleural spine small. Pygidium semicircular to semicircular-oval; pygidial axis inverted-conical, extending backward extending into a long pygidial spine; pleural region of pygidium smooth or with weak pleural furrows; border narrow; border furrow broad.
Remarks
Zhang Wentang et al. (1980) renamed it P. salva because the original name was preoccupied by the Siberian species P. venusta; in fact the original specific name was vinusta, which was not preoccupied, a point corrected by Cui et al. (2019).
