Cephalon horseshoe-shaped; glabella long-cylindrical with rounded front, about half the cranidial length; first pair of glabellar furrows distinct; occipital furrow straight; occipital ring wide medially; dorsal furrows deep, forming a wide deep pit in front of the glabella; eye tubercles at half the cranidial height, swollen downward into an inverted triangle; eye ridges straight; fringe without distinct ornament, about half the glabellar width, of fairly uniform width; anterior and posterior branches of the facial sutures extending upward-forward from the palpebral lobes to the margin, the posterior ends of the posterior branches cutting the genal spines smoothly along the margin; genal spines stout; posterior border furrow deep. Thorax of 10 segments; axis narrower than pleurae; pleural furrows wide and deep, extending to the ends; pleural spines short and small. Pygidium semi-elliptical; axis of four rings plus a terminal piece, close to the posterior border; pleural region with four pairs of pleural and interpleural furrows, the pleural furrows wide and deep, the interpleural furrows narrow, reaching the border; pygidial border narrow.

This species is the type species of the genus Palaeoharpes.
