Diagnosis
Head triangular, width slightly greater than length; maxilla straight, snout relatively pointed; frontoparietals relatively wide, trapezoidal, slightly wider posteriorly; orbit elliptical, anterior end slightly narrower than posterior; vertebrae wider than long; second presacral transverse process distally inclined anteriorly; hindlimbs slender, tibiofibula slightly longer than femur; phalangeal tips not expanded.
Remarks
Liu (1961) considered this species most similar to R. nigromaculata, distinguished by head width greater than length, wider frontoparietals, and similar transverse process dimensions. Represents the first discovery of anuran fossils in Shanxi. Abundant fish fossils found in same locality.
