Diagnosis
Small Rana species (snout-vent length 29-46 mm); skull tapering anteriorly forming triangular shape; frontoparietals smooth, with markedly thickened area ventrally; posterior presacral transverse processes perpendicular to body midline; urostyle bicondylar with sacrum; ilium with prominent dorsal ridge; tibiofibula significantly longer than femur (femur:tibiofibula = 0.71-0.90), indicating strong jumping ability.
Remarks
Holotype was lost. Young (1936) did not designate a holotype or provide specimen numbers. Roczek et al. (2011) designated a neotype (IVPP V 11706) and a paratype (IVPP V 14264), but the paratype designation is invalid under ICZN rules. Sanchiz (1998) considered this a nomen dubium. Questionable species, hence '?' added to species name.
