Diagnosis
Glabella strongly constricted posteriorly, with 3 pairs of glabellar furrows, S1 and S2 crossing the glabella; librigenae nodose, border with 9 isolated tooth-like spines. Thorax with 11 segments. Pygidium triangular, axis with more than 36 rings; pygidial pleural segments 13-14, pleural ends pointed and convex but not spinose. Grabau named the subgenus and Coronocephalus rex in 1924 based on specimens from Yangxin, Hubei, but the

specimens were lost; in 1938 Wang Yu designated a specimen from Longtan, Nanjing, Jiangsu, matching Grabau's diagnostic characters, as the neotype.
