Diagnosis
Entire dorsal shield covered with tubercles of varying size. Cranidium trapezoidal; glabella truncate-conical with rounded front; three pairs of glabellar furrows, the anterior two pairs shallower; occipital ring convex, of uniform width, occipital furrow deep; preglabellar field absent; palpebral lobes short to medium; eye ridges distinct; librigenae with wide genal field and stout, medium-length genal spines. Thorax of 12 segments. Pygidium subtriangular to semicircular; axis long with rounded end; 6 pairs of marginal spines, pairs 2 and 6 shorter.
Remarks
This species is the type species of the genus Damesella. Kobayashi (1941) designated Airaghi's (1902) enrolled specimen as the type, an action invalidated by Yuan Jinliang et al. (2012).
