Diagnosis
Glabella large, slightly constricted anteriorly with flatly rounded front; anterior border short and upturned with a broad wedge-shaped posterior extension on the sagittal line; 4 pairs of glabellar furrows (cuticle exfoliated); occipital ring with a small median node; preglabellar field narrow but longitudinally longer than the anterior border; fixigenae rather narrow; palpebral lobes long, arcuate; librigenae wide with long genal spines. Thorax of 11 segments; pleural furrows deep, pleural spines short. Pygidium large, semicircular, posterior margin distinctly concave medially; a gap between the end of the axis and the posterior border, connected by a postaxial ridge; border narrow and flat.
Remarks
This species is the type species of the genus Maotunia.
