Diagnosis
Dorsal shield long-ovate, smooth. Cephalon semicircular; border wide and flat; at the genal angle the border merges with the genal spine, which extends rather far backward with a wide base; cranidium subsquare; glabella rather large, truncate-conical, with three pairs of glabellar furrows; fixigenae about half the glabellar width; palpebral lobes narrow and rather long; eye ridges low, extending obliquely to the anterior lateral corner of the glabella. Thorax of 11 segments; axis gently convex, slightly narrower than pleurae; pleural spines wide, flat and rather long. Pygidium transversely semicircular; axis gently convex, rather wide, tapering gradually backward; border furrow indistinct, outer border extremely wide.
Remarks
This species is the type species of the genus Proasaphiscus.
