Compared with the type species Teinistion lansi: in this species the anterior border of the cranidium is flatter and not concave; the glabella occupies a larger proportion of the cranidium; the palpebral lobes are larger; the genal spines are extremely long, up to 1.5 times the body length; the thoracic axis is wider; the pygidium bears 7 pairs of marginal spines of unequal length, the first pair usually longer.
