Diagnosis

Dorsal shield narrow and long. Glabella very large, medially swollen, barrel-shaped, with 4 pairs of glabellar furrows: S1 and S2 broad V-shaped, S3 disconnected medially, S4 short; occipital ring with an occipital node; palpebral lobes small, raised as granule-like swellings; eye ridges short; fixigenae narrow in the palpebral area, posterior wings elongate-triangular; preglabellar field absent; anterior border extremely narrow, raised as a ridge. Librigenae medium-wide with long genal spines. Thorax of 16 segments; axis wider than pleurae anteriorly and subequal posteriorly, all segments with spine-like nodes, the axial spine of segment 10 long; pleural furrows deep, pleural spines short sharp claws. Pygidium small; axis extremely wide; margin without spines.

Remarks

This species is the type species of the genus Wujiajiania. Compared with Westergaardites pelturaeformis, it has fewer thoracic segments, a thoracic axis narrower relative to the pleurae, and no pygidial marginal spines.
