Diagnosis
Compared with the type species Cyphaspis ceratophthalmus: this species has more cephalic nodes, two large V-shaped spines rising upward from the middle of the glabella, larger lateral lobes at the glabellar base, and genal and axial spines of different lengths and shapes, with deeper pleural and interpleural furrows on the pygidium.
Remarks
The genus is commonly known as the "devil horned" or "devil's horn" trilobite.
