Diagnosis
Glabella triangular, one pair of glabellar furrows visible; occipital ring of uniform width; eyes large, occupying nearly the whole cheeks; librigenal genal spines short. Thorax of 11 segments; axis wide; pleurae extremely narrow with wide deep pleural furrows, pleural ends pointed. Pygidium semicircular; axis of two rings plus a terminal piece, with a long axial spine; border medium-wide.
Remarks
This species is the type species of the genus Opipeuterella. The original genus name Opipeuter Fortey, 1974 was a junior homonym, replaced by Opipeuterella.
